Special Track: Artificial Intelligence in Aerospace

Description

The focus of this special track is on the application of intelligent systems technologies within the aerospace industry. Of special interest are deployed or near-deployed software and hardware components with the potential to decrease system risk, increase capability, and minimize life cycle costs to this multi-billion dollar field. Because of its historically conservative nature and high inherent design and development costs, we feel this forum is the best way to incorporate new technologies at a time when we can no longer fiscally afford to stay the course of business as usual.

This will be a multi-session track with each session addressing different technologies and/or domains in which AI has applicability within the aerospace industry. Each session will consist of paper presentations from selected authors. Areas of interest within the track include:

• Spacecraft constellation maintenance and control
• Autonomous mission management for satellite constellations
• Autonomy for spacecraft
• Intelligent autonomy for unmanned air vehicles
• Autonomous orbit control
• Fault detection, isolation, and resolution
• Intelligent planning and scheduling
• Intelligent data acquisition and processing
• Algorithms for missile defense
• Architectures and approaches to intelligent system design
• Messaging systems for aerospace command and control
• Autonomous ground operations
• AI for learning in aerospace operations
• Revolutionary computing
• Performance Analyses of Flight Vehicles or Components
• Adaptive modeling
• Reasoning under uncertainty
